Re: G35s vs. 330i

I have to agree with MOTOP that a regular 330i , needless to say a 325, with the sport suspension doesn't handle as well as the Gs. It is very jittery and bouncy over the rough surface though its suspension tuning is not as stiff as the ZHP. ZHP, on the other hand, rides like a magic carpet, which has way less jittery ride and road noise compared to Gs and regular 330s. Handling wise, I really like how ZHP handles, feeling like a go cart, way less understeer than a M3 which feels a bit nose heavy at times. One thing I really have to give credit to Nissan engineer is the exhaust sound of the G coupe, the best sound I've ever heard of all entry level luxury coupes. As opposed to G coupe's wonderful exhaust note, ZHP has a very similar but annoyingly droning exhaust sound that tend to linger in the cabin during a long drive. The droning is more noticeable in 330ci than 330i for some reason. Anyways, I think ZHP is definitely as fast as G, if not faster. And the question is if it were faster than a G, why is BMW trying to redesign the entire conguration of the current I-6.

*I will never pay for a fully loaded 325 more than the price a fully loaded G sedan. At least that's what I paid for my fully loaded ZHP for about the price of a fully loaded G coupe."

Re: G35s vs. 330i

I think most people here have stated facts for the most part. It is a driver's race for the most part with the G seemingly having better upper end gearing while the BMW having better lower end. The BMW has better ride compromise and handles just as well as the G-coupe (which for the most part handles better than the sedan). Overall, the BMW is a better car and its pretty evident in the materials used and the way it drives (again, less ride compromise). Is it about $8k better? That is for the individual to decide. My fully loaded G-coupe w/Nav and 18s costed $34.6k. The same ZHP package coupe was over $42k. I coulda went with either but chose to pocket the $8k.

G35 and Russel, you guys need to take your fight offline. I don't think anyone here cares about your disagreements.

Re: G35s vs. 330i

A friend of mine just got one these... 330i zfs package that is... M badged steering wheel, suede leather accents, 18" rims... he let me drive it. Even with no experience with a BMW clutch/tranny, I could do heal-toe downshifts smoother than I can in my G. The traction control isn't as intrusive either. It's a sweet ride, for $43K (he got a decent deal I suppose).

But on straight line acceleration, it felt slower. Just my .02

Really, you could buy a used 330 for less than a used G35?

Ah, but not as much as you would save by switching to GEICO! Kidding.

Re: G35s vs. 330i

I've been following this post for the last couple of days and wanted too give my opinion. My last car was 330ci and as much as I loved it, it's got it's own faults. There will never be a 'best" car because all opinions are subjective. Everybody favours different things and everybody has an opinion and argue as much as you like, but that's the reality. My 330ci was a great car, a tad small granted, but a phenomanal piece of German engineering. As for the people who prefer this too a G, I commend you: and for the peeps who prefer the G I commend you also. Point is this, you could be driving a Daewoo and then you'd really have something too complain about.

Re: G35s vs. 330i

I HIGHLY doubt many of the MT drivers can drive with these numbers. C&D(and other auto mags) use PROFESSIONAL drivers, yes PROFESSIONAL. Not typical street drivers. So like I said before, it's really a driver's race. What's so hard to understand? A G35 sedan will not OWN a 330i at all.

Re: G35s vs. 330i

Didnt read the whole thread just saw some angry responds. Im just gonna say that if there is a 1.0 to 1.5 second difference in cars' 0-60, then its all about how good can you drive the car (even the automatic). Hate when people just say that this is faster than this. Just go to quarter mile track and find out you know the freaking numbers allready from the magazines and all over the internet the rest is up to you.

Re: G35s vs. 330i

I did have a choice between a Bimmer and the Inifiniti and chose the Infiniti. I don't think that the Bimmer is a "much" nicer car and I believe a must have would be an Enzo...
