G35 rear end

I was just wondering if the G35 has a limited slip differential (both wheels spin)

NIce Pic Mr. Flintstone If you are wanting to get the LSD for your sedan-the rearend out of a coupe will work. Or try JDM aftermarket stuff.

Re: G35 rear end

Re: G35 rear end

Hey bro, No not just the 6 Speed. My Automatic has it and to my understanding , all Coupes are made with LSD. Does anyone know if the Sedan 6 speed has LSD? I don't think so but not sure............ L8r dude..

The cost right now might be prohibitive. Cuscomake one that will work but you just threw the warr. out the window w/Infiniti. The best way is to snag a rearend from a dismantler, if you find on with a wrecked coupe or 350Z. Good Luck, I have struck out in 6 states.

Re: G35 rear end

None of the sedans have LSD, not even the 6-speed. For the coupes, the LSD is part of the Tire and Wheel Performance Package. This package is standard on all 6-speed coupes, and optional on automatics w/ leather.

Re: G35 rear end

From page 5-22 of the manual:

"The VDC system uses a Brake Limited Slip Differential (LSD) system to improve vehicle traction. The brake LSD system works when one of the driving wheels is spinning on a
slippery surface. The brake LSD system brakes the spinning wheel which distributes the driving power to the other drive wheel. If the vehicle is operated with the vehicle dynamics
control system turned off, all VDC and TCS functions will be turned off. The brake LSD system and ABS will still operate with the VDC system off. If the brake LSD system or the ABS
is activated, the slip indicator light will blink and you may hear a clunk noise and/or feel a pulsation in the brake pedal. This is normal."

So, according to Infiniti, all G35s come with an LSD. Of course, it's not the LSD that most people think of. I read this after getting my car and couldn't stop laughing about all the marketing crap.

I also began to realize that with the brakes doing all this stuff automatically (VDC, LSD, TCS, etc.), there might be some premature wear...

Re: G35 rear end

That is really good wishful thinking on Infiniti's part. Without a LSD/Posi unit in the pumkin very little power goes to the other axle-on the order of 2 to 6%.That power shift is due to the way the gear are set up in the rearend not by Nissan's design. "Owner's Textbook" gives you something you don't have but it does try to give you something for nothing and that is a great sales tool
