My thought is black accents do not look good on the LS. It's a tricky color to use as a pallette. Take wheels for example. Black is a no no, gold is out, gunmetal is too dark, bronze might be OK but would clash with the silver trim on the sedan, and so on. I would only replace my wheels with a bright silver because anything else just looks wack IMO.

IMO, i dont think black goes well with LS. BlueDream said it... too many silver/chrome accents for black to get tossed into the mix... I just recently went emblemless with my grille and went with a silver to match headlights and other accents on car...

I would agree with the above posts, black just doesn't work on LS IMO. I contemplated doing black accents a while back but decided to go with silver (grill, headlights, wheels).

What are you putting the overlay on, taillights, roof?

Pic of your car? I haven't a silver grill on an LS other than mine. Did you paint your headlights silver too?

Yeah, Im happy with my color choice sofar. I found that with the lighter paint you must do alot more prep work to have the final product come out well, say versus black where imperfections become muted...

I swear, I washed my car this past weekend

please excuse the cellphone pic

Do a silver overlay.

Just kidding. I probably wouldn't do black with that color, but I guess you could always remove the overlay if you hated it.

I don't like the silver grills on LS sedans. I prefer the dark chrome grill. Chrome and silver accents look good (like the wheels on candlestickpark's car)

ccc123pm u need some coupe 18s or spacer + drop!
only reason why i was thinking of a black overlay was because it would somewhat match the darkness of my rims, they are like gunmetal greyish

LS+Silver just works.
I think LS could pull off a black roof though... but only the roof, not black accents... and not an overlay either... If you did a black roof on LS, it would have to be paint (for the gloss) and you would have to have the windows tinted... IMO, that's the only way it would work.

I guess I'm the only one rocking tinted tails on LS out of Sedan owners. I saw a few on the coupe, but not on the sedan.

There is a thread in Media Share section dedicated to Lakeshore Slate color. You can find tons of pics with different set ups to give you some crazy, money spending ideas
