driver seat gear

Has anyone had any issues with the plastic gear on the seat stripping out. My seat would only move forward on one side and i starting taking everything apart and found that the plastic gear that is attached to the seat track had completley stripped out.
The gear is held in by one nut so i figured that i would be able to get just the gear but the dealership is trying to sell me the whole track for $600!!!

Does anyone know where i can get just this gear or is anyone willing to sell one off of an extra seat?

I had the same problem and replacing the gear was the solution.

Good, fast reply Mustang.

I had the same problem. I bought the gear he linked you to. It worked great and I am extremely happy.

It is great to have it fixed. After finding what the dealership wanted to do to fix it, this proved to be absolutely AMAZING.

Good Luck,
Dave

Dang, I had this issue under warranty and dealer said it was a 1200 fix retail. Saw a post a few months back for another guy out of warranty and everyone responded that he was sol. Hope he saw this link somewhere vs buying a new seat track.

^There's a reset... but I don't remember how to do it.
A quick forum search should turn up your answer.

My driver seat feels like it is doing a hick-up everytime i move it... When i move it back it goes back but feels like it skips along to get there.... and it will not go all the way back on the right track it stops like 5-7 inchs before the end, so the seat is slanted if i go all the way back?

Would replacing the gears be the thing to do?
Is there a way to remove the seat easily?
