Wetsanding Headlights

Its been a few years since I wetsandded headlights on my car, and I have a four day weekend coming, so I wanted to get it out of the way. I searched the forum and found one thread on it, but the instructions aren't consistent.

Anyone have good instructions or a link to a DIY? That way if I posted in the wrong spot we can delete this thread.

I just can't remember what grit sand paper I used, or the polish that I need. I just dont want to leave a bunch of scratches on my headlights.

Thanks in advance guys!

if its just buildup/yellowing on the outside of the headlight, pickup a bottle of PlastX from any autoparts store. The stuff is amazing and requires little effort for big results. Your headlights will look brand new after.

Here's one...
I'm sure there are many more in the detailing section.

total time was about 20 min

You only mention PlastX because it has a G35 on the bottle.

You can try PlastX, or a compound and polish. If that does not work need to sand.

hahaha I guess it could be worse here. I'm just used to it hitting close to 100 degrees here by now. but hey I can't complain, the heat out here is ridiculous, nothing compare to other places but when you get in your car and its 110 inside, not fun when your jumping in after a swim or in a tanktop after the gym.

Swivel-I'll post them if I can get a brake in the rain and finish them tonight. Try and stay safe out there with that white schite.

thanks Irock and D. I picked up some PlastX on my lunch and if that doesn't work you know sanding is the next step.

Thanks again everyone for the feed back

So we finally got a break from the rain here. You would have never thought that it was pouring rain for 4 hours straight by the looks of the weather and the ground in the background.
Before

Before

During

After

Nice and clear. Took maybe 10 minutes, at least they are done now. Thank god no wetsanding.
