Can you buy just the leather upholstry for your seats?

A leaf spring blew through my windshield on the highway the other day and cut my passenger seat and door slightly. I'd like to replace just the ripped leather rather than finding and replacing the whole seat. Is this possible? Also, anyone have tips on cleaning glass within my vehicle? I had glass dust and shards everywhere!!

Not sure if you could order this through the dealer. I would try your local junk yard, you might have some luck finding the pieces you need there.

Jesus man, good thing it didn't catch you in the chest!

I would find a few upholstery shops and see if they can order a new skin for the seat.

If not, hit up a boneyard and just get a completely new (used) one.

As for the glass, there is no way to get it out completely. My advice it to remove all seats and carpets and clean it up once a week for 4 weeks. That'll get most of it out.

You should have caught it with two fingers like a ninja. Oh well at least next time this happens you'll know what to do.

wow that's a crazy story. Are you getting compensated by the person that "lost" the leaf spring?

No because the leaf spring had been laying on the highway. The guy in front of me ran it over and it sprung up. Cop said there is no fault, I'm guessing because it was road debris. I'm gonna see if I can go after New York though.

There are several sedan seats on ebay for around $200

I doubt you could sue the city or state because they can't remove everything that is dropped every time it happens. For all you know it fell out/off of a vehicle 30 seconds before you hit it. If you could prove it had been there for a day or so and they failed to remove it you might have a case. However, that would cost time and money, probably more than it is going to cost to fix your car.
