HELP! plz. car wont Start after nav install.

Sorry, i know i already started this in the tech area...but i am desperate for input.. Thx again everyone..!

Hello,
Have been reading this site religiously for the last few months as i have been doing some mods to my car. earlier this week i added a 5/16 copper iso spacer, z-tube and pop charger.
Yesterday, i installed a Z110bt, boyo back camera, and all the equip to go with it. very pleased with everything! (and THX to all on this site who provided the info for isntalling these things) Onto the problem..

EVERYTHING in the car works fine, EXCEPT (1) i do not have any reverse lights, (2) In my dash it will not display what gear i am in, and finally, (3) the car wont start. there is power going to the engine..when i hit the key there is a reaction, but the engine will not turn over!

Stumped. Took the dash apart and disconnected everything i installed to make sure this was not causing it. No luck. All other lights, seats, ac, etc works fine. The only thing i can come up with is some how maybe i burnt the REV light relay beside the battery?

Thx in advance...!!!!..

Shawn

pull and check all fuses, use a DMM to see if you are getting resistance. If you show infinite ohms the fuse is blown

Have you tried taking the radio out and then starting your car?

it seems weird that the car wouldn't start from a radio install. There are no major parts that would not make any car start.

Did you disconnect the battery when you were working on the car????
Any wires touch if your left the battery connected?

so, thanks very much everyone for your help! after doing some more digging last night... i realized there was ANOTHER fuse box behind the batter...took the batter out, popped the cover off, and the first fuse i pulled....burnt.
Replaced it and all set to go!!!

I still would appreciate someones input to regarding the "reverse gear input wire" coming off the z110bt harness. I see several wires underneath the center console right beside the gear shift, and i have to assume one of those would be ok to tie this wire to? does anyone know what color by any chance...?

Thanks again!!!!

is that wire for the detection of reverse gear?

Some people tapped it into the reverse lights. Since when the reverse lights are on, you're in reverse.

the one I tapped into was actually drive door wire loom, its right by the seat rail under the door. If I remember correctly it's a purple wire.

Best bet is to get a meter, throw your car in reverse, and see if you get a signal. Good luck!
