I am ready to buy the G35 and came across the seat thread, all 35 pages of it. Is this a real problem that effects all G35's?
I would not want to pay a lot of money and have this problem.

Is there a way to check if the G35 has the problem or does it occur after time?

Is there a way to resolve the problem?

It happens to a small segment of the population, yep. Tell the dealer you'd like a loaner/demo car for a day or two, and go on a road trip. Tell them you know it's a problem, and if you don't feel it, you'll take the car.

If you don't have your wallet in your back pocket, don't have larger thighs, and don't lean to the right... you're 100% fine.

I have never had a problem with the seats in the 6 months I've had my G35X. I'm not thin and I don't sit on my wallet. I turned 10,000 miles last week so I've spent a good bit of time in my car.

Are you looking at other brands? The G35 rides pretty firmly. It's definately on the performance side of sports sedans. Not the best choice if you're looking to be isolated from road imperfections and expansion joints. But it holds the road great and that makes it a lot of fun to drive.

I've driven from Wilmington, NC to central Jersey (13hr drive) with no problems.

 

If you read the thread, I think you have answered all of your questions. There is no way of knowing if it will affect you unless you do as stated above. Take the car for a long test drive. Through a dealer or better yet, through a friend. I personally did not notice anything in my three 20 minute test drives. I had problems after 1 week of owning the car.

You have to remember that after all this time, it seems that Infiniti will do nothing else to resolve this problem, if it is a problem for you. Be absolutely sure. Good luck.

2003 G35 Sedan/Ivory Pearl/Willow Premium/Sport/Tint

 

I'm 6'5" and about 245# and just put 29 hours in the driver's seat last weekend on a chicago-atlanta-chicago roud trip. My passenger was 6'4" and his only comment was that the seats seemed to get more comfortable as the trip progressed.

No offense to all of those who are experiencing the pain issue of course!

Forgot to add- I've driven my car from Indy to the southern tip of Florida, back up to Indy, down to Nashville, back to Indy, out to Colorado, back to Indy, up to NY, out to Vegas, and up to Northern Cali twice with a return to Vegas.

Not so much as a twinge of pain... except the one I get when I look at my odometer.
