Dang, buy the thing. Who cares what she thinks. That's a great deal and it's YOUR car, isn't it? I'm gonna have the spoiler installed in the spring. I really miss the spoiler on my old G.

I agree with your wife the car looks better without the spoiler... I bought mine new without a aero package but if it were used and it had that spoiler I'd have it removed too.

I know more people who got the car sans spoiler who've ADDED one over time than people who've gotten one WITH it and asked to have it removed. In fact, I know zero.

I know of one person who had the dealer remove the spoiler from his sedan before he took delivery. **coughdyenboycough**

Ah, after a few beers my headache went away. The search continues, and at least the weather down here is beginning to cool slightly so driving my hunting jeep around isn't quite as bad..... and she did at least "apologize" if you know what I mean!

If you're buying the car for YOU, get what you want. If you're buying the car for HER, get what she wants. Or get her a Hyundai.

IMO, if I were buying a G35 for my wife, I wouldn't waste money on the Sport suspension or the Aero kit. She doesn't appreciate those things and they add significantly to the cost of the car.

Re: HELP ASAP! I can't win.

Why aren't you taking advantage of end of year prices and financing. You should be able to get that car new for under $32000 and get a much better interest rate, because its new. You can also get a longer term on the loan and wind up with monthly payments less than with the used one.

Re: HELP ASAP! I can't win.

I tried to take advantage of the end of year pricing etc. on a new 04, but a number of things happened. One: The dealerships refused to negotiate on ANYTHING. They still wanted $650 over invoice on a 04', and I was able to get a better price compared to invoice over a year ago when I was considering a G for myself and it was nowhere near model end. When you tie that in with the fact that the second you drive an 04 off the lot, you not only have a used car, you have a used car that is over a year old regardless of mileage. It amounted to about a $6000 hit immediately based on KBB. 2. The dealerships refused to sell me the car I wanted. They had one on the way (2 weeks out at the time) and I said I would buy it. I offered them the 2% over invoice for it, and they just told me no. No counter offer, just NO! I was amazed and pissed off at the same time. At that point I said the hell with the dealerships, called a family friend who owns a used car lot, and asked him to pick one up at auction for me. Down here loaded 03's are rolling across for like $24K+ and 04's are around $25-26. Pay him for his troubles and regardless of loan rate (currently 4.25% for a used car), I still come out WAY WAY WAY ahead. So, that is why I am not going to buy a new 04. At this point, if I were to go new, I would have to go 05' and I really don't want to pay that much right now because I know full well the dealerships are going to be asking MSRP for them.

Re: HELP ASAP! I can't win.

You can do better than 32K. I just got mine last week and it's great - can't wait till it's broken in. This one is from the second distribution of the G35s and the vehicle was delivered 7-27-04. Silver/Graphite Sedan, premium, sports, aero package, splash, full size spare for $30,300 plus fees and 3.9 financing through own credit union. There's some depreciation because it's an 04 but in the long run it shouldn't matter unless you plan to trade it in or sell it in a few years.

Re: HELP ASAP! I can't win.

Man, that is a pretty good deal. Much better than they would give me. At that price I would be about $32,500 out the door, but the closest they would get to that for me was more in the neighborhood of $34,500 which I thought was a bit rediculous.
