Ok, so after months of searching (which I know I have bored you with my posts about), my friend found an 04' Sedan at auction. Diamond Graphite, Graphite Leather, Sports suspension, aero (Non Nismo) kit, Premium package. Pretty much all the bells and whistles except Nav. Only 18K miles on it and the car still even smells new. Tires are good, not a scratch or nick on the car. Brought it home to the wife to check it out lastnight and she says, "well, its not the color I wanted, and it has a spoiler, but is it ever SWEET." So I am thinking I have finally got her a G35 and I can have my Tahoe back. WRONG. She wakes up this morning, tells me she hates the spoiler and unless we can get it removed, she doesn't want the car. Oh, did I mention the price? $27990. So, can the spoiler be removed and at what cost? Help, I need to know ASAP so I can either bring the car back or get the paperwork done.

 

The trunk lid will have to be swapped (holes) or repaired.

You should be able to get someone here to swap lids,
for a free spoiler.

That is a possibility as well. How big are the holes?

 

She HATES the spoiler??? Why?? It looks very good imo...it was something I had to have on my G35! Just tell her you got a great deal on it and SHE looks GREAT in it!!! ;-) She'll get used to it...it makes it more sporty looking and well, sometimes, you just have to sacrifice a few things here and there in marriage and in life. ;-)

Tell her that if she lets you just keep it as is (without messing up the trunk or getting another car, etc.), then you'll do something "special" for her...what does she want (within reason of course? ;-) Now that you've found the car you were looking for and if this doesn't work, it may be time to find a new wife ;-)

Ok, I am pretty much furious right now. "Oh I guess I can take one for the team if they remove the spoiler." You know what, she may be lucky to get a Hyundai when everything is said and done.

 

I'm sorry to hear that. My wife loves everything about my car. It's her FX35 which she has a little remorse about...she wishes we got the roomier and more practical Acura MDX, but I know for a fact that she loves the Intelligent Key System and she thinks she "looks cool" when driving that copper monster around!!! ;-)

I think if your wife doesn't back down on such minor tradeoffs (the spoiler and color), then you should get her what "everybody else drives"...a Honda Accord!!! ;-) Not that it's a bad car, it's just that the Infiniti G35 Sedan is so much better!

The spolier is not that hard to remove but the holes will need to be filled in by someone who knows what he's doing. I find it funny though as I put a spolier on my car to make it look better and my wife said she loves it with it on.

Yea, I am of the opinion that she is retarded at this point. Even her grandmother loved the spoiler. The only thing that is keeping me from going over the edge is knowing that her entire family is going to give her an enormous ration of @#$# when they find out she turned her nose up at it.

 

You ever thought about trading her in for a better model.....J/K Good luck on your situation.

Wow. Trade your wife in. I know more people who got the car sans spoiler who've ADDED one over time than people who've gotten one WITH it and asked to have it removed. In fact, I know zero. The look of the spoiler grows on you, the more you get used to it. I can't imagine my car without one anymore. If you wife is that inconsiderate of the work you've done, and is aesthetically deficient, trade her in.

Okay. I'm calm. Seriously, though, I think that's very inconsiderate and ungrateful. Tell her you can't find any other ones, and you'll get her a Hyundai.

I would have bought the car, burned all the sales receipts and told her she had too have it.
Seriously, I feel your pain, when it comes too cars my wife can be a royal PIA, but I seriously doubt she would have overlooked the hard work I put into finding her the car she wanted.
On a lighter note, go any buy yourself a case of Heineken , lock yourself in the garage and as each golden amber thirst quencher goes down your pain will lessen.

 

I hear that man. There is a fridge full of cold ones at home waiting on me. Now she is back pedaling, but that car was so sweet with the spoiler on it, I could never bring myself to deface it by removing the wing. Sadly, I'll have to leave it to someone who will really appreciate it and continue my search. Its funny how women act when they realize they have overstepped their bounds.....

 

Yo please buy my car or take oveer my lease, ill get you a new trunk without a spoiler!!!!!
