Rough ride over bumps

Just purchased a 2004 G35X Sedan with 90,000 miles.
Love the car but find the ride to be rough, especially over heavy bumps and holes.
At times it sounds like it is bottoming out.
I had a mechanic check the suspension and he said everything is OK.
Previous car was a 1999 Acura TX which was smoother.
This is mainly my wife's car and she is not into performance.
Any suggestions for a fix.

Could be the compression rod. Those things are known to go bad. Especially in the coupe. Also what size tires/wheels do you have?

I have an 06 coupe. Stock 19's, stock suspension.... 10k miles, and yeah, the ride is rough.

Compression rods? & tire size

Great input! My first post...WOW
My wheels are stock 17' with new Potenza tires by Bridgestone

I do not see a listing for "compression rods" at G35parts.com.
Maybe they are listed under a different name.
Could someone please give me a link to the part and a diagram of
where the part is located in the vehicle?
Many thanks,

How much $ do you want for the set of 4 stock shocks if this turns out to be the problem?

Compression rods:

or diy with just the bushings (you need to have them pressed in)

dude my sedan rides like a dam del sol! I hate it i have 18'' rims on 45 profile tires thats high enuff my RL rode like a BMW with the same wheels.....im thinking of just upgrading because my car is already at 140k+ and i got it a 100K never changed a thing come suspension. PLS dont roast me for not maintaining my car i actually do try but money is hard to come by so pls if anyone knows a cheap swap out i could do i would appreciate it as well! Also i get creeks and squeaks over small bumps and like the other guys said i HATE THE CHEAP LOW QUALITY FEELING!

Question. Is an alignment required if the compression rods are removed to swap out the bushings? I'm kicking around doing shocks/struts all around at the same time I do these bushings (108k) and if an alignment is required for the bushing replacement, then I will wait and do it all at the same time. Thanks.

It's called compromise. If you want want sporty handling, the ride is going to be firmer. There's no way around it. You RL definitely rode softer but it also doesn't have near the handling capability or feel of a G.

It would be far cheaper to replace the shocks, various bushing, and other parts that might need replacing than buying a new car. Creeks and squeaks happen in most any car as they get older. Even Acuras aren't immune. Every 04+ TL I've riden in is a rattle box. My G had rattled too, but those were all addressed with a little felt and about 2 hours of my time.

^thanks for the fast response do you recommend staying stock or going after market because infiniti list their shocks as wear in tear and recommends changing EVERY 40k miles.....im 3&1/2 times late! I think a lot of owners on here go tein but i dont know if they do it for the drop or better ride.
