Problem with my key?? help!

so i got a 2003 infinity G35 sedan i was in cali the other day and i shut off my car and it wouldnt let me turn the key into lock position to pull the key out and i couldnt get it out all weekend finally one night it comes out randomly, i go to the dealership and they say its the solenoid but they didnt even look at it, and i hate dealerships cause really 90 percent of them dont know what the hell there doing, so just wondering if anyone knows of anything or have had any similar problems and what might be the solution

Um it's Infiniti not with a Y in the end. It happened to me once, I took it to the dealer. They waved a large magnet on the key & it came out. It hasn't happened since.

Try seeing if you had the wheel turned too far. Sometimes if you lock the wheel by accidently turning it when the car is off, it will do a key/shift lock so you cant turn the key or shift the trans.

+1 on the steering wheel. While in park with the engine off, turn the wheel slightly and the key should come out

Ive had that happen to many cars ive owned in the past. It's great when Girlfriends freak out. Just tell em you need to change their blinker fluid real quick.

+1

I have had female friends call me up freaking out because they can't get their keys out. I tell them to just shake the wheel real hard side to side while they try.

Has happened a few times to me in a few different cars as well
