+1

Unless you are driving like Steve McQueen through San Fran, what need is there to turn off vdc?

You should turn it off, but just take it easy for the first few laps until you get to know the track properly and also the limits of your car.

Yeah, well my comment was in reference to a purposely fast launch in the rain, but I do leave mine on otherwise in the rain

I'd say leave it, like Mustang said I've also posted some very quick laps with VDC on, not noticing I'd accidentally left it on until I'd made a mistake. If you are smooth as you should be and squeeze the throttle on instead of just mashing out of the corners the VDC will not get in the way.

I have done a few trackdays now and always leave it on. If you're smooth with the throttle you won't get much wheelspin and the system does allow for a bit of wheelspin and lateral movement as well.

If you're very comfortable with the car and track then turn if off but it does offer a little bit of insurance should something unexpected happen.

You can do better....I hit a 14.7 with my stock awd....with the vdc on (because I forgot to turn it off)

It doesn't make any difference in power or timing....it only comes into play when you spin a tire or get loose...which obviously is harder to do with awd which is why I noticed no difference in et with it on or off.
