is this normal?
I mean when going over bumps or hitting some smalls potholes I feel that the shift **** shakes / trembles a little.
Since my other daily driver a.k.a POS is a stick shift jetta I'm use to resting my hand on the auto shift **** and this shaking is starting to worry me.
My car still has like 2 weeks of basic warranty left, should I get it check out? anyone else with the same issue?

i sometime feel the exact same thing you are describing in my '04 g35x. . .i believe it is normal as i have felt it in other cars, and my '10 audi does it consistently

 

I drove with the hand on my 06 shifter all the time since I'm used to manuals...mine does not move period.

I do have a different shifter however

 

My 06 G35x do the same thing! I was also wondering if it was normal...

my 06x shifter shakes a bit going above bumps too

 

^^ so I guess the light shaking is normal then.
I just hope the tranny won't fall off the car one day

 

my shifter vibrates once and a while, but doesnt shake/move.

 

just be happy yours didnt break off because you were gripping it too tight (what she said)....those things are expensive.

I just checked again..no movement. I like to drive with my wrist on the shifter so I can adjust the radio and hvac easy.
