Which KBB value were you basing it off? Dealer Retail, Private Party, or Trade In and in what condition?

My insurance told me on the phone today they listed my car as Dealer Quality (top ranking) as it was very clean, had great paint, low miles, and brand new tires on it. They told me to get the receipt for the tires which I have.

You should get a list of comparable vehicles (year, model, mileage). see attached when I totalled my truck. get prepared to be low balled and dont hesistate to speak the manager. they'll get it right 3rd time around sorry for the bad quality of the image.

well i was basing it off private party.. but my car was so close in the price range of sugg retail value vs private party that it didnt make much of a difference.

i had mercury insurance at the time and they didnt require any receipts they took my word for everything, i ended getting more for the car than i was asking (it was for sale) also my clearcoat was chipping so all in all i ended getting like 5.9k for my 02 sentra SE-R with 93k miles

but like it was stated, make sure you get what u expect for your car.. if not voice out or else they will get their way.

^It's strange, I had Mercury too with both my Trans-Ams... they low-balled me really bad on the first one, but then gave me a really good check on the second one

When my QX56 was stolen here in AZ, StateFarm used the NADA Retail Value and added Tax on top of that. I didn't have to argue at all, they know what they need to payout so they should give you a fair retail market value + tax (at least here in AZ).

damn...that sux, but the fact that the car was crushed in like that helps with the impact of the crash, making it a safer car.

If it stayed stiff, you would have felt it a lot more

Well received my insurance money this week. They gave me roughly $23k for the car including sales tax and the new tires I just put on.

Ended up buying a Mercedes CLK 550 to replace the G35x.

Will miss the AWD but the power in the CLK is great.

So the G35 crumbled while no damage on the Solara? LOL

Well, at least you're alright and you got a benz out of it.
