Auto Transmission & Maintenance

I am considering purchasing an 04 G35 AT Sedan with about 75k miles on it and am curious about what transmission issues other members have had, and how long I can reasonably expect the transmission to last.

I may not be able to obtain maintenance records for the car, so I would also appreciate anyone's input about what I should have checked/done right away.

chances are the fluids werent changed at 60k... so it would be a good idea to go ahead and replace the trans fluid, as well as diff fluid

Inf dealers do free point inspections and transmission is a big part of it, get it done takes about an hour before u buy the car then show them and either have them fix whats wrong or knock it off the price and you get it fixed.

as for ongoing maintenance, mine is 06 5AT @ 93k miles and the transmission is still going strong as hell, just keep up with fluid maintenance etc and they last long azz times, i have seen/heard some G35's going to 150k and up and everything continuing to work like a dream... as long as you keep up on the maintenance
