so was wondering if a nismo y pipe would be any different than a non.. or better yet would i notice any exhaust tone with a 1st gen 350z nismo y pipe than my current sedan y pipe?

edit: is there any way i could notice that the Y-pipe is nismo?

 

i have the nismo on my sedan. there is an exhaust note change. i dont know if there is any noticable power change though

 

you running a nismo and coupe midpipe? i know there is a tone change with simply the midpipe. how much more does the nismo y pipe make?
and how can i dentify it vs a non nismo

 

If you want power, get test pipes or HFC's.

Most cheap y-pipes are replica's of the Nismo. In the end, it's all just bent pipes. They are all prone to cracking. Some with Nismo's have reported cracking.

The Nismo will bolt on to the coupe mid-pipe, but the diameter is different. The outlet on the Nismo y-pipe is 3" where the coupe mid-pipe is 2 1/4.

The best y-pipe is the Motordyne XYZ imho.

 

Motordyne xyz pipe will feel power but my car sounded no different than stock. Then I got the vq y-back with dual tips and it sounds AWESOME!!
