Checked out a 2004 g35x. The car was very well maintained. Had all the records from the dealer, as well as oil changing places. good inside and out. I was surprised at the following things. #1 back seat doesn't fold down (I guess that's on me... should have done the research), #2 brakes are squishy. I read that that is how it is, and the owner said that that's how it was from day 1, but its rather weird and def more annoying when driving slow vs on the hwy. #3 in full auto mode the tranny is really slow to shift as a result the power waqsnt really impressive. In manual shift mode though it felt very strong.

Are therse all normal impressions?

Yep.

Still a great car though and one of the best bang for the buck deals out there. Steer away from an X model though unless you really need it. It's overkill if you live in a warm climate, more parts to mess up and a little harder to mod than a RWD version.
