that sedan has to have some crazy miles on it to be only 16 thousand for a 07, and never really been a fan of the volvo's, definately not a good idea to get a newer sports car when your only going into college, cost of maintenance and other stuff for the car is gonna kill you

you should have someone check it out because even though he has to let it go thats still a ridiculous price for an 07, or sounds stolen

You don't have enough money for either.

Buy an old Subaru.

Are you paying for it and college? If not...get whatever you want.

If you are paying...youbdont want a car payment in college...wait til you get a good career started and have an understanding of how much your student loans will run you.

If you're going to college, you need something like a 2000 Honda Accord. It's probably not what you want to hear, but will seriously save you headaches in the long run.

Where are you going to college? If in an inner city you will regret buying a nice car and having to park on the street. If it is more rural you can probably get a nice car, but I would shoot for something in the 10k range.

I agree. I work out here in Isla Vista,CA and ALL cars (New and Old) get fckd with. Drunk kids walk by and tear off antennas, break mirrors, key cars, let the air out of tires, knock over motorcycles... all while walking around at night. I would get an old Accord or a Mazda3 (built on Volvo chassis anyways)

i wouldn't get 07 sedan for college i had a jeep wrangler when i went to college and i partied alot and the last thing i needed for a nice car .... if your going to live on campus .. there would be no need for a 20k car IMO make sure you get a CARFAX on that car before you even think about signing any papers

DO NOT USE CARFAX. Use Auto Check (Esperian) Dealerships use Carfax because it doesn't catch everything. I used to work at a dealership.

When I was in college...broken windows were common. The biggest targets were the kids with parents who bought them an m3 for their first year. These are the cars that get windows broken, and lawn furniture placed on the roof. My freshman year after the red sox lost to the Yankees in the alcs, a mob of drunk college kids flipped over three cars in my dorm lot.

My roommate had his car stolen twice at school...second time it was found with a homeless guy living and crapping inside it.

I left my crappy car at home during college. When I graduated...I bought my first brand new car and paid it off in a year. Well worth the wait.
