I know this has been asked a lot but.. (midpipe question)

I am going to purchase a mid pipe from Socialconflicts soon hehe, but I want to know if this mid pipe will give me a deeper sound? I recall reading out the 05 midpipe is almost exactly the same as the coupe midpipe. I searched for the thread but it seems I'm having a bad day and I cannot find it for jack **** lol.

Anyways, my car is a 03 G35 Sedan and I want to put a 05 midpipe on the car, will I notice any sound gains? I plan to get a z-tube and a plenum spacer as soon as I get some more funds headed my way.

Anyone have a clip of a stock G35 sedan with only a 05 midpipe? Thanks.

Not physically, but considering how much bigger the 05 resonator is, they sounded remarkably similar on my setup.

05 top, coupe bottom:

If you can find the coupe mid pipe, get that one. I have an 05 sedan and put the coupe mid pipe on and I can tell a difference in sound. Its a lil deeper and a lil louder. My coworker has a stock 06 G35x and even she could tell my car was louder than hers.

I have plenum spacer, and HR Y pipe, and when I floor it sounds really good.

Since you have an 03 your car should sound louder than mines due to you have a smaller rear muffler.

Hmm, I think I am going to try a trial and error sort of situation now and get to the bottom of this feud. It's pretty hard for me to find a G Coupe mid pipe and I don't want any fitment issues.

I got my coupe middy for $50 and I LOVE what it did for the exhaust note.

It's soo worth it dude, just do it, you won't regret it.

Also, our "suitcase" mid-pipe weighs 35lb... compare that with the 10lb coupe middy and you're now 25lb lighter... I've seen Honda drivers throw away entire seats for less weight than that

Just keep in mind the difference will be subtle but noticeable. It's not gonna sound like you just put on an HKS or anything like that.

I'm running HR Y/CM/stock muffler on my 05 and love the sound. I had a Z driver at Uprev tell me how much he liked my exhaust sound when my car was on the dyno!

Now I'm just contemplating lol, maybe I should just remove the dang resonator and call it a day. Except, I don't want to sound like a rattled old honda. I'm having a friend pickup my midpipe from socialconflicts in SD and I'll post up a good video lol.

I've been looking everywhere for a coupe midpipe! My next purchase will be a HR Y pipe..

If an exhaust shop will do it for cheap, you could just go that route. Though I haven't heard one in person, several people have said it sounds good without the resonator

I have the 05 sedan midpipe paired w/ HKS rear-section exhaust on my 03.5 sedan (along w/ MD spacer and Z-tube), and the sound difference is like night and day

^^ That's my setup, too, but TBH I didn't notice much difference going from the coupe mid to the 05 sedan mid. Both sound great.
