Warranty question

Hey I am about to hit my 60K in a few thousand miles and have noticed lately that 3rd gear feels weird. I am taking it in to a dealership to get the dashboard replaced (on the steering console the corners are coming up) and am wondering if they are going to try to say that my mods are the reason my tranny could have issues.

Does anyone have any advice for me? This particular dealership has been mod friendly to me and others in the past and have specifically asked for the technicain who is the most "mod friendly" to work on my car.

depends.

usually, a dealership will look for any reason to not have to pay for any repairs, and if the mod you got directly impacts the tranny, then they'll probably claim that is a violation of the warranty.

but I would read your warranty first to see if such language exists, just so that you are prepared for any response that you do not like.

furthermore, unless the mod is obvious, I would not mention it.

well headers, HFCs and aftermarket exhaust are not something you can really "hide"

Morgan...if you want to go a little out of your way you can take your car to IOT. David Jacobs, a service manager there, has always been mod friendly to me and several others. He works closely with my brother who is a service manager at Tyson's Nissan next door.

Ken Im taking it to Pat at IOA. Tracy and him have always been friendly to my car, Tracy is the best service advisor I have had getting stuff replaced under warranty that arent usually covered like belts and interior pieces.

OK WTF. I take it in and they said there was a TSB for an ECU reflash. Ok cool. Drove fine for the first two days and now for the first 30-45 minutes of driving if I come to a slow or complete stop 1st gear actually JERKs like the car is about to shut off then "catches up". This also happens in reverse.

I have also noticed that it shifts into 3rd gear around 20 miles/hr. WTF. Im pissed and they cant see me until Wednesday.

TOMATO TOMATOE. LOL

I had to call them back again this morning and told them I do not feel safe driving my car. When I start driving it drops down 200/rpm and still jerks. Then when I put it in either drive or reverse it sounds like the bottom of my car is going to fall out.

WTF. I told them I am probably doing more damage to it driving it without knowing whats going on and since its still under warranty, its coming out of their pocket. Somehow they found me a loaner and will look at it first thing Monday. Which is a good thing since most of the crap happens during the first hour or so of driving.

So they lied about the TSB for the ECU reflash. They now are trying to blame the idle issues on my HFCs....

BS. they messed with my throttle body and I had it back for one day. It stalled on me 6 times and so I took it back.

I have a TSB from a 2003 G35 that shows how to manually relearn the idle by cutting off fuel injectors one at a time.

I have had my car 3 days since the 2nd of August. It has been back since Friday and they have not even called me with an update.

ahhhhhhhhh

yeah I got the new transmisson. Shifting problems are taken care of..

when I got it back the idle was all over the place from 200 up to 1400 and it stalled out on me

took her back and they said they cant set the idle because of the high flow cats... really just clear the code and run the idle relearn again or relearn it manually.

Basically they dont know what they did. The service advisor orginally had on there that I stated the idle was all over the place when my AC was on when what I really said was the idle was all over the place since the reflash of my ECU was done...

doesnt sound the same to me.
