Need wiper refills. What brand?
The wiper blades are leaving streaks across the windshield. Time to do somethin’ about it. Have you replaced the blade assembly or just gotten refills? Also, are you using Nissan OEM blades or aftermarket? Thanks for your input.

I clean my blades every other month or so, take a soapy rag and wipe the edge of the blade. You'll see lots of dirt and oxidized rubber come off. Once clean, they'll wipe like new. Since I realized that all that was required was a little maintenance cleaning, I' haven't changed wiper blades in the last 15 years or so. Longest I've had a set was 8 years on my Altima, still had the OEM set when I sold it, and they still wiped like new.

... I'm in Florida myself.
The heat causes the rubber to oxidize making the wiping edge uneven, causing streaks (the theory according to chinee). Try it out... I'm sure you'll be surprised.
Make sure youtry RainX as well. This is another "ever-since" experience... ever since I found out about RainX, I have ALWAYS used it on every car in my household. I once had a car with a broken wiper switch, it would only operate in the interval mode (one wipe every 7 seconds), with RainX, I never bothered to fix the switch... I left it as-is for the next 3 years... didn't need to use the wiper much at all.

Re: Need wiper refills. What brand?
There maybe something about California because I clean the blades with every car wash and the rubber still breaks down after about a year. This happens on all the cars and trucks we have had.
When I worked in auto repair many years ago the shop sold Bosch blades and refills. I used them on several personal cars during that time and after a few months they all developed chatter. Maybe times have changed for Bosch but I am going to look at RainX and PIAA this time around.
Thanks again folks.

Texas here... bloody hot summers. I had the same deal with skipping and black streaks in front of my view. I also recommend Rain-X blades. They're not the most expensive but they work GREAT. TONS better than the flimsy stock assemblies.
