Coupe midpipe
#16
I found someone local to me that is parting out a wrecked coupe... what would be a hella good price for me to offer on the mid-pipe? provided I am the one that might have to go remove it too...
I'm thinking $30? And offer to be the one that does the work...
If I make an offer, its gonna be for the front springs also, according to the sticky, that will lower the front 0.5" and right now, it seems about that much high on our 03 sedan... I might just say $50 for the springs and midpipe...
What do y'all think?

maybe its because i've been around fart cans and higher end exhausts more then the average guy on here. as long as i'm not stuck at the exact same speed i think its decent.

^ Start low and work your way up .
I wouldn't go past $120 for both middy/springs, tho, but that's just me.

$120 my a$$...
If they are just parting this out, and want to sell stuff off it quick, they won't be waiting for me to get to $120 for all of it.
I emailed about the pipe and front springs only to ask what they would want for them... If they say anything over $30 for either, I'll just pass. These aren't "needs" for me, they are just wants...

considering the front springs are hard to take off i would say if you perform the work 50 bucks most for springs would be decent.. but remember it was a wrecked car.. just a thought. but i would not do coupes, the drop isntthat much, go with 350z springs the best bang for the buck.
as far as the middy, start low 30 bucks, dont pay more than 50-60 for it.

^ They're hard to come by but they'll pop up every now and then. Definitely not as rare as a 350z HR y-pipe, though.
Your best bet would be to be proactive in your search:
Post a WTB in the exhaust marketplace.
Check your local Craigslist often.
Look/search around the forum for other coupe drivers that have upgraded their exhausts and ask them if they still have their OEM parts < probably your best bet.

I just went to a meet, overheard one of the coupe guys saying he was going to do an exhaust soon, and chimed in with "I have dibs on your stock mid-pipe"
He had no idea they were useful to sedan guys.
Left my contact info with him, and bought his middy after he got his exhaust done.
Bolt on. You'll need to bend the heat shield on the drive shaft up just a bit so it doesn't rattle against the pipe, but not so much that it hits the drive shaft (like I did )
Also, the coupe Midpipe weighs 10lb compared to the 03/04 sedan midpipe which weighs 35LB!!!!
