Update (and continued thanks!)

My son checked the wiring and saw nothing out of line. Took it to the Nissan dealership and now they are diagnosing that both ballasts are bad. I have a hard time understanding that BOTH went bad at the same time (also having a hard time stomaching a $1,000 repair). Anyone have any thoughts? I'm not necessarily doubting they are bad but I don't want something upstream causing the failure. Plus, they have not tested them but are just going by the diagnostic flowchart.

You can get them used for $200.

Hit up mrwong@statik... And it's easy to install it yourself.

So with four bulbs+ballasts= $240.

Plus install is easy

Good luck!

Buy aftermarket if you can. DDMtuning sells kits for like $30. Thats what i use in my fogs, i'd probably do the same in my headlights if i had to.

This is the EXACT same problem i am having right now. My passenger side HID headlamp will go out sometimes if i hit a bump or hit the headlight housing with my hand. If i turn the headlights off and then back on, the passenger one comes back on every time.

I don't necessarily think its a bad connection because the light always turns back on by just turning them off and on. Once its out, I dont need to tap the light or wiggle the wiring or anything like that, just switch the lights off and back on, but i dont really know too much about this type of stuff.

Anyone know what is wrong or have any suggestions? I'm gonna try to pull the bulb out through the wheel well and re-connect everything on tuesday probably...

ilovez33, if you read this, what did you do to fix this problem??

Grow up, mature some, and stay on topic.

My headlights are like that too, but now, it's completely out.
