04 G35x exhaust question

I looked around in the exhaust sticky and i could not find anything regarding the exhausts that fit an 04 x. I was looking into buying the megan catback but the sales guy told me it wouldnt fit. Would the HKS rear section not fit either? Do you guys know of any exhaust besides the top speed one that will fit an 04 x?

Thanks

An HKS rear section muffler will fit your G35x. Several G35x owners have it. A G35 coupe midpipe would fit too, I think. I don't believe any aftermarket y-pipe works, although I don't know for sure about MotorDyne's. They have a big thread in this subforum, look for threads by Hydrazine (Tony, the owner).

If you search for "+g35x +exhaust", you will find answers. The search function works on the forums, it's just that the majority of the members on here don't know how/don't want to know how/are too lazy to use it. Just search for titles and add "+" for multiple words to narrow down results. Glancing at the thread titles that popped up, it looks like the Stillen Gen2 and the Borla work on later 1st gen G35x's (2006). Not sure if there is a difference between 03/04 and 05/06 G35x's as I don't have an X.

There have been many G35x owners before you that have put aftermarket exhausts on, you just have to find their research/findings in threads. Off the top of my head, I think some of them are Bestswat, coup de grace, RicoG35x, Konsole, iiiiiekoiiiii. Go look through their posts. Also, try searching through the regional subforums for the colder regions - Canada, Midwest/Northeast US - for other members with aftermarket exhaust components and ask them what their experiences were in finding what fits/what doesn't fit the G35x.

Motordyne's XYZ pipe doesnt fit, it has been test fitted before and it couldn't bolt on due to the transfer case. I have an X as well, I currently have this:HR y-pipe, coupe midpipe, and HKS muffler. It all fits.

The difference starts at 2004.5 year. The 03-04x transfer case supposely is in a different location, but I have not seen pics, just "he said, she said" stuff. For sure though 04.5-06x has exhaust fitment issues.

Im about to try an aftermarket y-pipe and see if it fits.
