Fog light burned out

I noticed that one of my fog lights is not working. Read the two
DIY threads about the fog light removal. I understand the Sedan
takes HB2 bulbs? Can anyone recommend a replacement
bulb?
Many thanks!

The two that I have used and liked were the Sylvania Silverstar and the PIAA Extreme White.

The Sylvania is less expensive but maybe not as white as some like. It's available at your local auto parts store.

The PIAA is a little more expensive and a little whiter, but I don't think it will last as long as the Sylvania. You can find PIAA's at various online stores.

My PIAA superplasma (HID) look bulbs last for about a year, the fogs for our cars are H4 bulbs!!

Re: Fog light burned out

9003 is also referenced to as a H4 also is a HB2

I've had my 9003ST SilverStars in since 2002. Very happy with them. One of the local dealers that carried PIAA did a comparison test using the STs against PIAA Xtreme Whites and Super Plasma GTs. Looking at the headlamp, the PIAAs seemed to look brighter than the STs (Plasma>Xtreme>ST), but were actually the opposite when shone against a white surface and also using a lightmeter.

So it depends on what you are after, better visibility or look. The STs seem to last longer than PIAAs as well.

Gord,

My sedan is one of the few 2003 without the HIDs. Is the bulb
specification the same for me? Thanks for the info!

Re: Fog light burned out

Your non-HID uses an H1 as the main-beam (low-beam) lights.

The Hi/Fog still use the H4.

Re: Fog light burned out

I'm still planning to buy a G35. Can I ask a silly question?

Where are the fog lights on the G35?
I read somewhere that they were "integrated", does that mean they are in the main headlight assembly?

Or, do all the photos of the G35 sedans that I've seen not have the optional foglights?

Re: Fog light burned out

The foglights are actually in the main headlight housing, but they are the bottom circle (beam)!!

Re: Fog light burned out

The fog lights are not an option on the G35. They come
standard.

Re: Fog light burned out

OK, I decided that the low/fogs are indeed the H4 bulbs and my
lo beams are H1 bulbs. I drove over to O'Riley Auto Parts and
bought the Sylvania SilverStars for all headlamps, the two
H1 low beams and the two H4 Fog/High beams. Just finished
the install, took about 1 hour for both sides. They look sooooo
much better than the stock Halogens. The SilverStars look
very much like HIDs, no yellow at all. I imagine they would
compliment the now standard HIDs pretty well.
Thanks for all the advice! Job done.
