Whining Noise/Cold Start
Whining Noise/Cold Start
With the weather getting colder, i hear a very audible whining noise from the underside of the car during cold morning starts (50 Deg. weather). I had the car during last winter and it did not make this noise even in much colder weather. The noise goes away after a few miles of driving. Does any one else has this issue? Should this be considered a 'problem'?
The noise seems to come from some moving part other than the engine (propeller shaft or gear box or the wheels) because i donot hear this when i am stopped.
Thanks for the help,

Re: Whining Noise/Cold Start
I noticed a noise like the one you are talking about when the car was cold earlier today. It sounds like the catalytic converter is rattling or something. It goes away as soon as the car warms up.
