I could have sworn two of them on the drivers side could interchange. Been a while since I looked, but I had to remind myself to do one at a time to avoid mixing them up. I think it was middle and rear?

If my damn engine cover wasn't on I'd check but I don't have the right nut driver on me tom remove it.

 

I did not diagnose the problem,the dealer did.

 

Maybe you should pay $50 and take it to the dealer.

 

Well here's an interesting development. I read up about the maf, decided to take it off and clean it. It seemed pretty clean. Sprayed it down with maf sensor cleaner. Let it dry for about 30 - reconnected it, reset the ecu. Let it run for about 15 min. Then drove it about 2 miles.

Now following codes:

P0102(maf sensor)
P0102 pd (maf sensor pending)
P0113 (iat high temperature)

No more p0300 (multiple cylinder misfire). Thoughts? Resolution

And to answer your question the main reason I'm not going to the dealer is because of time. I work full time, commute 3 hours a day and am a grad student. Can't afford taking a day off or really have time to drop the car off so I work on it at late at night, if I can't figure it out by saturday ill drop it off

 

What did you "clean" it with? You should only use "MAF" cleaner. Did you let it dry until it reached ambient air temp? Condensation will form inside if you don't.

 

Just sprayed it down with some CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner. Waited about 30 minutes and then reinstalled it. Stuff evaporates pretty quickly, I did it on top of some shop rags that were clean and the rags were dry to the touch when I reinstalled.

 

Is there anyway to confirm if the MAF has gone bad/needs cleaning? Based on everything I've read I'm really starting to be convinced this is it.

I don't see how the dealer would do anything else besides reading the OBD code. I just want to confirm if it really is the MAF because I'm assuming most retailers won't take it back once I open it.

 

Dealer would prob read the codes....and replace the sensor without any additional troubleshooting
