NOW....my next questions.

Is there anything to look for on 05 sedans, like when the 03/04 had the sport package?

everything i read seems the only differences in the sedans are if you go auto or manual, the manual getting all the 'sport' options. is that correct?

I am assuming swapping on the 350z springs/struts will pretty much make up the suspension differences anyways (and then some)

you guys have been a great help!

The reason everyone on here is giving you advice is because we have all been in your shoes. I personally almost bought an is300, audi a6 (with the 4.2L v8), bmw 3 series, and whatever else was in my price range. I drove 3 hours one way just to test drive the audi. Trust all of us when we tell you to get the g35. The cts, legacy, and saab aren't up to par with the performance of the g35. Test drive all of them to be sure, but more than likely you will end up in a g.

Good luck and have fun driving

Not sure if the 03-04's with premium package have this or not, I would think they do but maybe someone can confirm, but the 05-06 premium package has reclining rear seats. The 06 is the only that offers bluetooth as well. The 05-06 navigation has a better interface IMO and looks better as well.

Downfall of the 05-06 is the limitation to body kits available. Side skirts are interchangeable, but if you want a rear lip, you'll need an 03-04 rear bumper. As for the front bumper I'm not sure if Strafe offers anything for the 05-06 yet, but there is a KuRookie bumper.

Go 05/06. If I had the option, I would have just so I would have had to paint my lower sills. Also, dont get an X. Limited coil/sway bar options

the closest to me is an 06 X to test drive.

On a test drive it should feel pretty much the same right? Aren't they RWD with front wheels only receiving power when rears slip? Its not all time AWD right?

the only other one within an hour drive is a 03 sedan w a 6 speed, which I dont want manual so....

As far as body kits, a lower lip is all i can see adding someday. I have never added body kits to cars. wheels, lower, tints then the rest goes to performance.

CTS is fail. Should be between the Leggy and the G.

that's basically where I am at. Just gonna drive a CTS 3.6 for due diligence.

I like the Saab 9-2x as well, but figure it to be a bit small inside, and only has a 4 speed auto (which members on their forum say really sucks).

The Legacy and G35 are my 2 favorites, and I can find the legacy for about 2-3k less similar years/miles. But 2k wont close the deal when I need to figure liking (hopefully loving) the car for 3 years. I really liked the GT limited when I drove one way back in 05, but didn't compare it to a G35 back then.

Yes and no.

From a dead stop, it's 75% rear and 25% front. Around 18mph it transitions to full time rwd.

Handlingwose, there is prob more push in turns, and they weight a bit more and get slightly worse fuel economy.

Gotta worry about tire sizes when it comes to wheels, and limited on certain other mods.

In the snow they are absolutely incredible though.

I love my awd....but I also plan on keeping my g stock.

i love my 06 5AT Sedan has all the packages except navi and yes u can get the sport suspension etc with the 5AT, only difference with the 6MT is that 6MT's come standard with it lol

only tough thing is that trying to find a 05 or 06 5AT Sedan with sport suspension etc is tough since its a specific package that was a hefty price at retail when bought or leased new so they hard to find, took me 4 months for mine to come into a dealer nearby and i snapped it up

honestly with the sport suspension i still get a bit of roll etc but it is "Stiffer" than the standard suspension on the G (Test drive did 2 and felt it was stiffer) honestly unless u get a killer deal i would not look for a sport package/standard stuff since u can get some 350z springs etc for a couple hundred bucks and be even better off i know i am lol

I owned both 04 MT sport sedan and 05 MT sport sedan for over a year so I know best.

The 03 is total crap and it has a few problems with the AC controls and Bose headunit. The 04 is okay but the interior is still **** and as an example the dash and some other parts of the interior are painted and it peals off, really not cool at all. The interior also rattles bad during winter.

The 05-06 is the best to get in my opinion out of ALL the current and probably future Infiniti models. Why? Weight. The 03-04 05-06 sedan and 03-07 coupe are the last models under 3500 lbs curb weight and the 05-07 coupe and 05-06 sedan is the best compromise between luxury, quality and performance under 3500 lbs curb weight. There is the oil burning problem on 05-06 manual sedans but 06 sedans still have warranty. The 07+ sedans 2nd gen are too heavy.

You can look at a C class Benz but it's slow even if it's slightly better on interior. The car has no go. The CTS V6 is super heavy and underpowered. 3500+ lbs curb weight and 255 hp vs. the G at 298 hp and 3450 lbs curb weight. Look at a 07-08+ 335i turbo at 3600+ lbs curb weight and 300 hp, the 135i is better and it posses a greater threat than the 335i.

nicely said yep thats one key point that got me into the 5AT instead of the 6MT... no oil consumption/leak issues
