2005 G35X wheels. Show me your X with Wheels.

Hey Folks,

recently purchased a 2005 G35x Sedan, it came with the 17" wheels. I have been looking on the site and i see lots of non X sedans with aftermarket wheels.

Post up your X pics with rims, I wanna have an idea what it looks like and how many of you are running X with staggered wheels.

Thanks

Alot of AWD sedan run staggered wheels. I ran them for 4 years no problem. Like I told the dealer when they tried to bs me " the car know rolling diameter not rim width". The right tires are your friend.

FlyingLumpia, I think his wheel/tire setup is:
19 x 9 - 225/40
19 x 10 - 255/35

the wheels are not the issue, its the OD of your tires. The X Altessa AWD system allow for a touch of flex within the diamaters of your tires (approx .1-.3"). The important thing is the run the slighly larger OD on the front so the rear does not sense any slipping.

I run 225/40/19 front and 255/35/19 rear. I have a .1 difference with the front being the larger OD. No issue at all.

Lots of threads on this. Do a search and you should see some good info/pics.

Im looking for a set of wheels as well...Will most Rim shops know this about AWD cars? Did you have to run any spacers to have that setup? Sounds like thats the most common setup ur running....Are those 19 x 8 and 19 x 8.5s?

What kind of wheels are you looking into? Just tell them you want to run 225/40/19 and 255/35/19 tires. A 8.5/9.5 or 9/10 (will be a tiny bit stretched) staggered setup would look good with those tire sizes.

To be honest Marcus, I want a set of Bronze in color not sure what kind yet, Not to many spokes, Decent rear lip (maybe $ bill width) but nothin to wide that I gotta Roll any metal...I dont know to much about the spacers. But, I want the rear to be close to flush without rubbin on the qrtr. Size wize maybe 18's or 19s..I want to lower it alil, but not sure if I should lower first or go with wheels.. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Most tire/wheel shops will advise against running staggered on AWD. I specifically asked the Infiniti service advisors about it and they confirmed the information I previously posted.

I am running 19x8.5 all around but using a staggered tire set up b/c they were brand new when I switched (was 19x8 and 19x8.5). Personally i like 8.5/9.5 for wheels.

I have 5mm spacers front and 10mm spacers rear. Spacers have no effect on an AWD system.

There are a lot worse things we do to throw off the original geometry of our suspensions than the staggered/awd wheel issue. Go for it and keep the rolling OD as close as you can like everyone else said.
