CD Changer Question

Im picking up a G35 sedan this week, and the current owner informed me that the cd changer is jammed, however one of my friends has a G35 coupe and said i can have his old cd changer since he upgraded to an indash navi. I know this might sound like a stupid question, but the coupe and sedan should utilize the same stereo components correct? Everything should fit fine if i were to swap in the cd changer from the coupe to a sedan? (Sorry if this is a noob question)

Edit: his car is an 04, and mine is an 03, i would think the units would be pretty much the same

At that price you might as well start looking into a double din unit. I'd just get the usa spec ipod hook up. That's what I did in my sedan when the cd changer jammed.

For future reference, you might consider posting stuff like this in here: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...on-thread.html

Many of the most experienced and knowledgeable members on this forum are subscribed to that thread, and you'll normally get a very good answer much quicker than the 3 hrs it took to get a response on a new thread.

Now, as for your problem. Be aware of the fact that most of the time, when the cd player is jammed, it will not shut off completely and puts a slow drain on the battery. So if the car sits for 2-3 days without being started, it will likely kill the battery.

The OEM bose system is of a very poor quality, so your ideal solution would be to buy a double din kit and put a much better deck in.

thank you for the information. i was thinking the same thing, the dealership charges $350 to fix the cd changer, but i see plenty of double dins online for around the same price, and you can get a decent one for $300.

Its a Jensen DVD unit, It was on the cheaper side of things but even so the Quality of sound is much better. If you just search Double DIN on here youll find everything. I highly suggest going thru Crutchfield because of their Lifetime tech support and bundle discounts

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_110VM92....html?tp=20220

That link is the head unit I purchased.
