Anyone sold your car thru internet?

I am trying to sell my car, I posted on craigslist and ebay

I got a mail yeterday, he asked what's the lowest price I accept, so I replied my best price. he mailed back this morning, what he said was

"ok no problem i will be paying you with my PayPal account because it's attached to my bank account and its safe and very secure way to make payment. If my mode of payment is accepted just send me your paypal email address,(Paypal ID) so i can pay in right away. Make sure you get back to me so that i can make the payment. I have a private courier agent that will come for the pick up after payments has been made, so no shipping included. And if you dont have a paypal account, you can easily go to www.paypal.com and sign up. its very easy. I await your reply asap"

I want to sell my car face to face, but I have to get rid of it asap.
Is it new fraud? Or should I trust him?

honestly I wouldn't do online selling of a car. Too much money to gamble. and having someone saying i need this asap definitely sounds a bit too sketchy. but then again paypal is pretty secure.

Lets see what others have to say.

smells like a scam

anytime they say "courier service" and talk about a third party, its usually a scam

id wait a few more days for someone else to reply

I sold my previous car to who lived 900 miles away from me. I was in MD and he lived in FL. He transferred money to my bank account and picked up the car by delivery company. And I sent key and title by mail. I thought I would be fraud but actually it wasn't. But it was definitely risky

it just seems like to much of a risk

unless this car is G35 #1 off the assembly line or something special, i dont think its worth the risk

paypal can side with a person either way and it would really suck if it happened on a large transaction like this

That right there told you its 100% a scam. UK is used in ALOT of scams over craiglist! Which im assuming you got this email from someone over craiglist and not ebay!

Let me guess he is probably in the army too right? Anyways if the UK is mentioned its a Scam!

It sounds like a scam. Always do deals in cash and have them pick it up in person.

I was reading up on this scam earlier this week, yet another perpetrated by the Nigerians. They pay using Paypal using stolen card numbers and such, send you over the amount asked and ask you to wire them back the difference, once Paypal finds out its a stolen credit card, they remove the credit from your account and your out the amount you wired back. Don't sell to anyone who won't meet in person. who's going to buy a car on craigslist without an inspection? Nobody
