Motive Pressure Bleeder Problem with 1107 Ford 3-prong adapter
I tried using my Motive pressure bleeder with the 1107 Ford 3-prong adapter to bleed my G35 brakes. But for some reason the 1107 adapter is not holding pressure. I pumped to 10psi and air would leak out completely in about 3 mins. I made sure the cap was on all the way and there is nothing between the M/C and the cap. Has anyone experienced the same? I see several people here and on my350z are using the 1107 adapter, are you not having any leaks at all? I can hear a loud hissing noise as soon as I go beyond 5psi. Is my cap defective?
I have had the Motive bleeder for my Miata for many years. For that car I used the J-hook adapter and I never had any issues. I really think the 1107 3-prong cap is not strong enough to hold 15 psi.
Thanks.
Wilson

Yep, the cap was pressed in all the way and it was straight. I tried to turn it further to tighten it but it became loose and kept spinning. So I gave up on the 1107 and went back to my old 1101 J-Hook adapter.
The 1101 worked fine and held pressure for the whole day so I was able to check for leaks in my Stoptech brake system. I positioned the chain under the metal master cylinder, in front of the sensor wire and behind the hard brake line. I also made sure the cap was centered for a good seal. It worked perfectly and was very easy.
Personally I would say don't bother with the 1107 and just go with 1101. 1101 is a universal adapter and will work on many cars, so it's a better investment. I wish I didn't waste time and money getting the 1107 adapter.
