Issues after installing new TB

I got a polished TB and after installation, my car is in limp mode and wont rev higher than 2K when in idle. Same thing in drive, the car hardly moves forward

I have been doing the idle air / throttle relearn as well as an ECU reset...with no luck so far, maybe due to bad timing? Slip/CEL/VDC continue to stay on.

I know these procedures work for reseting idles that are too high or erratic because ive done them before after some practice, but will it work in my situation? Should i keep trying the relearn or do i need a new tb?

Thanks

pm stormstoopa. he just had this problem happen to his car not to long ago ... and im pretty sure another member had an issue like this as well recently ...

this is the code your car is throwing right now - p1122 electronic throttle control
http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/ba...es_from_ec.pdf

try all these things in resetting your ECU ...

this is everything i can tell you till someone chimes in and give you an exact answer :-)
all i know is that if you have extended warranty you pay just 100 bucks for the testing and they will have your car back up and going in no time ...

ok so pretty sure that TB was bad, so i gave up on it and put my old one back on and everything works....

BUT....

Since i did the swapping around of the TBs, i am getting a weird smell coming from under my car in the center, a fuel-like smell, but not the gasoline smell. Same weird smell does not come from exhaust, just the middle area.

Also, when i got gas, the inside of my car wreaked of gasoline the whole way home, never had that one happen before. Anyone have an idea what this can be?

The car idles/rpms pretty normally from what i can tell. I did remove the upper plenum as well a few weeks back, but didnt really mess around with anything else.

Good lesson here. If something is working good, dont **** with it. What would gain with having a polished TB anyway. What do you drive with your hood open?

Gonna have to disagree with you here. Under that logic, why bother modding our cars at all then?

Ok. I'm not even going to bother responding to that one. As long as you're happy with the way your car is, nothing else matters.
