New To The Forum...

I already made a thread in the coupe section but there was a change of plans from my original thread, i was originally going with an black coupe 2005 with tan interior but i decided last minute when i went to pick it up today that i just could not deal with the tan interior it just wasn't for me.. so today i went in and i picked up a 2005 G35x Sedan in Dark Gray Metallic w/ a black interior.. and i'm glad that i made the decision to switch it out to something thats more suitable for me, the car has 43,000 miles and i paid 14.9 for it, not to bad of a deal i think, its automatic which for me is just better since ill be driving it a lot within NYC. (just my personal preference)

not sure what mods i'm going to do but i have the first two i'm going to probably get done this weekend, the car doesn't have tints and as i'm sure most of us can agree thats a must, i'm also going to smoke the tail lights as well, not to dark though i like when it has that actual smoked out look rather then just the dark black look to it..

im also going to be looking into an injen cold air intake within the first couple weeks as well, as far as a good exhaust system im not to sure but i think im going to go with a HKS catback system, does anyone on here have it? and hows the sound on it? not to rice is it?

well any ways as you can see my names danny and i'm happy to be a part of the forum, looking forward to getting to chat with y'all on here and if you guys can holla at me if any meets are being set up anytime soon id love to do that so hopefully i can pick peoples brains about some good mods for my car..

^ Welcome Danny to where the better half resides

I just until recently had the HKS, but it's only axle-back (muffler-only). Nice and deep but it drones a little at cruising highway speeds/up hills. You can pair it with a coupe mid-pipe and I'm not sure if AWD's can use a HR y-pipe or not but those three combined are a good setup that many people use. You can look at the stickies above for a sedan exhaust compilation to listen to sound clips & only your ears can tell whether or not an exhaust sounds 'rice-y' to you. Also there's a huge thread on HR y-pipes in the exhaust subforum.

You can look to the regional forums here for fellow NYC owners and I think there's another site for NYC G35 owners (google it). Just try to search for answers to your questions first instead of throwing up 20 different threads on things that have been answered ad naseum.

Have fun modding

Welcome

Everyone on the board is named either Danny, Chris, or Tim... so that makes it easy......kinda

Enjoy the extra room, and I'm sure the AWD will serve you well in the snow.

I've heard the coupe mid/HR Y/HKS rear section combo in person, and it sounds very nice. Not ricy at ALL.

Good choice on the car. I would advise reading up on intakes for these cars, IMO I would stick with a Z-tube and drop-in or a JWT popcharger and stay away from CAI's.

Welcome to the board.

Welcome. You say your car is dark gray metallic? G35's don't come in that sick@*** color. Did you mean Diamond Graphite? Is nowhere near as dope as Dark Gray Metallic. That's almost black with some flakes to it
