Willow leather

Ok, for all of you with the willow leather interior, I have a question. I have not been interested at all in a car with the willow interior because I am worried it will not age well and show dirt really bad. How has your interior held up over time. Looks like there isn't any graphite interiors available in my area, so I am going to plan B.

Re: Willow leather

I don't have any problems with the leather at all. The only real "dirty" issue would be the floor mats, but hey, they're floor mats.

I have an 04 Ivory Pearl 6MT with Willow interior and I think it's sporty & classy rolled into one.

Re: Willow leather

No problems yet and i'm going on 2 years now, but only have 7500 miles on the car

The floor mats get stained quickly tho, need to replace them about every 6-8 months...

I have had several G loaners with the Willow, and those didn't look bad with the exception of the mats, I don't think willow is any harder to keep clean than any other light colored leather! Even Graphite will show dirt of different kind if not taken care of!

The cure for this is to get a set of ExactMats, nice, clear mats, let the color of your factory mats and the logo show through!

Built2shred,

You only have 7500 miles on a two year old car?!? You must be retired! How can you stay away from the G? I will have mine two years february 2005 and I have over 56K on mine.

Re: Willow leather

I don't have willow, but every loaner I have had with willow looked like crap. Maybe it was just because it wasn't maintained, but I am glad I went with graphite.

Re: Willow leather

My worries come from seeing the inside of a couple of loaners that the local dealership is selling. Both were early 03's, and the leather looked pretty nasty, but then again also looked like it just needed a good cleaning. I know loaners get thrashed, so I am more curious how the leather holds up when taken care of.

Re: Willow leather

My G is 15 months old and the leather still looks new. I use leather cleaning wipes on the driver's seat occasionally. These help quite a bit. I personally think the Willow looks better than the Graphite.

Re: Willow leather

2 years and 28K miles later, my leather looks great. It's not complicated - no food in the car, knock off your shoes before you get in, and every once in a while, give the leather a once-over with some Lexol leather cleaner. No problem at all.

...floor mats, though, look dingy in time. I just take mine to the car wash where they've got some wetmop/vacuum cleaners for the mats. My car still looks essentially brand new.

Re: Willow leather

For some reason the willow leather feels softer than the graphite leather does. The willow doesn't "shine up" like graphite does either. I think the willow interior will age better than the graphite. Just keep it clean and use Lexol.

Re: Willow leather

Mine looks new after a year; I condition it alternating lexol with 303 (for added UV protection).

Pros.
+ interior appears larger
+ cooler in the summer

Re: Willow leather

I chose the Willow because it seemed to make the interior less dour. That said, I have an issue with the side bolster on the driver's seat where the finish appears to be wearing off. I plan to have the dealer replace.

Don't see any issues w/cleaning. I've had black, gray, and beiges, and they're all about the same. Leather is easy to clean; I don't understand all the to-do about food, drink, etc. We've paid a nice piece of change for this car-use it and get your $$'s worth!
