I got a quote to repaint the side skirts and rear skirt of the Nismo Body Kit. As most of you know the White Sedan has a problem with the skirts matching the rest of the car.

The Body shop quoted $780 to do it. They said the higher price is due to the 3 step process needed to repaint them. They said it will match the car a lot closer then the color Infiniti shipped the skirts out in.... I'll post pics after I get it done..

i got around the same for the side back and front

 

Irritates me that Infiniti would sell a pre-painted kit when the color does not match the rest of the car. The Body Shop said it looked like they added to much green in the base, and that is probably causing the color difference.

If it comes out really good I might send Inifiniti Before and After photos and the bill, not that I'd expect them to reinverse me, but I'd like them to know I don't appreciate there lack of quality on this product.

Mine came fromt he factory/dealer, and the paint matches perfectly on mine, i heard its only the white that's really hard to match up also, so i dunno!

i have a silver sedan and ordered mine after i had the car 6 months, even after some parts were repainted there is still a noticeable difference. SORRY GUYS, and they blended mine up the car and screwed that up to. now i got mad orange peel

 

My silver kit is off a little bit from the rest of the car.

I've had to replace my Nismo front bumper once, and the rear twice. They come painted, and the match up is quite good, (in silver.) The funny part, is that the collission repair estimating guide that the adjusters used included hundreds of dollars for labor and materials for painting the already painted bumpers. The Bodyshop manager dismissed it, saying "Alot of times we have to paint it....you know, if it gets damaged in transit or don't match right." What BS! If it comes screwed up, I guarantee that they just return the part, not fix it! Body shops must LOVE replacing these bumpers (at least for collision repairs, anyway!)

I have heard of problems with the black as well. If you look very close at some black kits there is a bit of difference.

 

I have a Caribbean blue sedan and I bought the car with nismo kit. The color matches perfectly.

 

That sucks man Did you guys get it from the factory, or did you order it after you bought the car? When it doesnt come from the factory painted on the car already i think there is trouble matching the paint, but i could be wrong! It seems though its the people who bought the kit after they got their cars, and it didnt actually come with it who are having these problems..

Ya I installed mine after I got the car. But the Infiniti Rep I spoked to said it was a common problem on all the White Sedans, and proceded to blame it on the material of the body kit and the angles that caused the discoloration. Sounded like BS to me... Hopefully these guys are good and it will come out right...

Like i said, good luck with it, i would hate a half-*** job also!!
Adn the kit is made out of urethane i believe, that is the top quality material that most people use for body parts i believe and which most bumpers come in!!
