Starter died at 175,000 miles
Finally at 175,000 the car wouldn't start, and it was the starter.
Cost at the dealer for the starter is $330. It's very easy to remove the old one and install the new one.
Once you have the car up on stands, it shouldn't take any more than 20 minutes to install a new one.

100K before trading it in.

Do your scheduled maintenance. Almost any car today should be able to get near 200k miles if you take care of it. I had a crappy ford ranger that I just changed the oil every 3-5k miles and it made it 200k miles. The original timing belt snapped at 200k... car could have probably done another 100-200k miles if I wanted to.

1) Disconnect Batt
2) Remove Nut (12mm i believe)
3) Remove 2 bolts to bell housing (14mm I believe)
Starter will slide out forward towards the front of the car then down and back after you get it out of the bell housing.
That simple.
Its located on the Passenger Side.
I just turned 160K miles on the odometer yesterday. Car runs like a champ. Oil change every 4-5K miles with full synthetic. Drain/fill the trans fluid every 30K miles or so. Diff fluid ever 30-40K. Power steering suck/fill as opposed to full flush.
