06 sedan: aluminum center dash kit turning yellowish, but why?

i have a 06 g35x and during the past couple of months i noticed my center dash alluminum piece is turning yellow. It's right above the ashtray, and including the top of the ashktray cover.

why is this happening? anyone else has this problem?

how could i fix it? can i buff it out?

do you use your cigarette lighter? the discoloration could be coming from the heat off the lighter

It's a reaction With the glue and the heat from the center console. You don't even need to use the cig lighter.

My 06 did it. I had the panels replaced under warraty less than a year ago. And guess what? It's doing it again with the new peices. My cig lighter has never been used ever.

Idk, I think if you use the cig lighter it turns yellowish. I pushed it in once to see if it worked and it got a little yellow you cant tell unless you really look. So I took the cig lighter out and haven't used it since.

Lol, nah if anything, that's the lighting in my room because it's a yellowish white that's hitting off of the aluminum. I assure you that my headunit is a crisp silver-aluminum color.

Cig lighter has nothing to do with it. Like i said before. My cig lighter has never been used, and my trim turned yellow. Had it replaced under warranty and it's turning yellow again. Still, cig lighter never used...don't even plug anything in there either.
