Wow, 1 year necro-bump to suggest just replacing the entire trans for a leak?

It appears that I have somewhat of a similar issue. They're doing a diagnostic on it til tomorrow I will have the details.

Just replaced both hard lines coming from the transmission to the transmission cooler. The lines are able to touch a little bit, and through slight movement while driving, wear enough to start corrosion.

Mine were just starting to blister and "sweat" enough out for me to see it while doing an oil change, so I was able to swap them out before much fluid was lost.

The 2 lines are special order though, and you'll need the 4 washers that go inside the banjo fittings as well.

Also two notes.....the trans coolers do go bad extremely fast on those 05-06 models for some reason. The issues don't start w ur 5at. The RE05 is a great unit I'm telling u !!! But I see them becuz when the coolant fins or seals leak they leak into the trans cooler and mix w ATF watering down ur trans. Here is what happens. Water or coolant in ur trans causes the friction plates to become unglued. Also electronics and water don't mix. So ur shift solenoids and ur relays will start acting erratic. Finally coolant alone in even a small dose will cause ur seals to swell. If so u can get slipping and or complete failure in such a case I had an input drum seize against the casing.
Leaking ATF or fluid esp ones like matic j cause overall line pressure to rise in an effort to compensate. U will feel slipping and eventual start over heating clutch disc clutch drums and planetaries.
I recommend all 5at nissans to install a 30 - 50 dollar cooler from a reputable trans or part store and help keep the trans cooler ha ha and heat away from ur engine coolant. Big diff little price.

Any questions just ask....
