Oil leak
I just got a G and it had an oil change the day I bought it. Got home and overnight there is a foot by foot and a half oil spot on the garage floor. I'm not sure if it leaks when the car is off because I let it warm up in the garage for a few minutes before driving. any ideas of what it could be? I read it could be an overtightened oil filter but the change was done at a dealership so i don't think thats it. could it be run off stuck in the skidplate?
also one more question. where are the lift points on an X? in front of the doors behind the wheels and behind the doors in front of the wheels?
thanks in advance

Hard to say, but two possible guesses are bad/missing oil plug gasket (or stripped plug) or missing or doubled up oil filter gasket. (or too tight) you really need to go look yourself
^+1 One time I changed my oil and started it up to check for leaks and saw that a little bit of oil had started to leak from around the oil filter. I thought I had put it on pretty tight but discovered I could almost give it another 1/4 turn. If you have a jack and stands just lift the car and turn it on. Wait 5 mins then get under it and watch for any drops of oil.
Oil filter too tight can cause a leak? How is that? It's so tight the gasket gets misshapen or something? I noticed mine was pretty hard to get off last night when I changed my oil. I also noticed some oil has been getting blown under the car. I couldn't tell where a leak was if there was one. I just can't imagine that I had the filter on tight enough to make it leak, though. How does that happen?
I had an oil leak around the oil filter. I check the filter first and found out that it was the oil cooler o ring. It will start leaking once the engine gets up in mileage mines went out at about 109k. Its easy to change the o ring is about 46$ at the dealer ship or you could use an old oil filter o ring. They are about the same size, but the one at the dealer is made of I think is nyline and is orange in color and the one on oil filters are made or rubber. But all you have to do is take off the oil filter and at the base where the oil filter screws on is a nut loosen that nut and the oil cooler will come off, you don't have to take off the two hoses that run to it. Look on the back of the cooler and you will see the o ring it should be orange. Like I said you can use an oil filter o ring but I don't know how long it will last. On my car the orange one from the dealer lasted over a 100k, but slide out the old o ring and install the new one and reassemble. It took me about 5min.
When mines was leaking it seemed like it was the oil filter, and after I tighten the filter as fas as it would go after a day of driving I still notice some oil on the filter. Most likely the oil was leaking from the cooler onto the filter since the filter mounts right to the cooler, and when I went to the dealer they new exactly what I was talking about. So I assume they knew it would need to be replace sooner or later.

I have an 04 sedan sport model but it should happen on both since the engines are the same. The coupe makes a little more power due to it having the dual exhause and the sedan doesn't. Pretty much all engine parts that fit the coupe will fit the sedan.
I'd recommend pulling off the filter and trashing it just to be safe. It could be the seal on the filter or it could possibly be that the old filter seal stayed in place and then they screwed on a new filter, basically doubling the seal. I did once with my wife's Subaru and it started leaking badly once the oil was up to temp. I was perplexed until I removed the filter and realized what happened.

Actually the coupe's exhaust is not different except it has a smaller resonator and a much larger muffler can. It's not a dual exhaust, but rather a single just like the sedan. There is no real power difference between the coupe and sedan other than a paper rating. The 260hp 03/04 sedans are underrated.

Yea I know I have the coupe mid pipe installed on my car and the hr y pipe. The coupe mid pipe is a lot lighter than the sedan mid pipe. I was looking to see if the coupe muffler would fit but the spare tire area would have to be cut or removed, and I looked at the coupes trunk space to see how the muffler fits that car, and notice that the trunk was not as deep as it is on the sedan. Which is why it would not work for the sedan unless you modify the spare tire area.
