wheels on 05 AWD

I am considering purchasing an 05 g35x, but want the new wheels which are only available on the 2wd model. Since I will buy a separate pair of snow wheels and tires, regardless, I would rather get the far better looking new 18 inch wheels and high performance summer tires. Anyone have any experience with getting a dealer to switch wheels? I'm willing to pay the price for the 18 inch wheel/tire option. Is there any mechanical reason (e.g., interference with brakes) not to put 18inch wheels on g35x?

I don't see why not.

17x7 wheel w/ +45mm offset.
18x7.5 wheel w/ +45mm offset.

I'm actually on the other side. I'm getting a 6MT and looking for a set of 17".

Are you looking for 17 wheels (without tires) to mount snows, or wheels and tires to replace the 18inch original equipment? If the later, why?

To mount the snows.

Also, I'm thinking of getting aftermarket wheels, which will mean I'll need to sell the stock 18".

dirrtybear, are you saying that 16 inch wheels will not fit over the 2005 12.6 inch rotors? Do I need to get 17inch with 45 offset for snows?

16 inch will fit...the rotors are not changed from 04 to 05...I have 16 inch stock from my 03 base sedan...anyone interested?

That's not entirely true. The rotors for the 05 Sedan are bigger than previous models, with perhaps the exception of the G35x.

Re: wheels on 05 AWD

So back to my question, will 16 inch wheels fit on the 2005 G35 Sedan with the bigger 12.6" rotors? I read from the Altima SE-R forum that the 16" spare wheel has a special hump (what ever this means) over the wheels to fit the calipers. I think the Altima SE-R and G35 have the same/similar front brakes (12.6"). No one seems to know for sure....
Anyone get their 2005 and put on snows???
