Warranty??

What willl void my warranty? I was looking to add some stuff to the car mainly, CAI intake, sway bars, maybe pulleys. Did a search but it was no good, only 3 threads long.

2004 G35 Ivory Pearl, Fully Loaded, Premium Package, Navigation, Aero Kit, Infiniti Aerodynamic Body Kit.

Re: Warranty??

Bottom line is if you have aftermarket parts and something goes wrong with your car Infiniti must prove the aftermarket parts caused the problem.

Although this is the way many of us interpret the law, Infiniti and their dealers often play by their own rules and will blow smoke at you to avoid major warranty work, citing aftermarket parts as contributing to whatever has failed.

Be very careful.

Very true. This was the case in my situation. I believe that if you stick to your guns and you are in the right you can come out ahead.

Re: Warranty??

From the stories I've read, once you ask the dealer to put into writing that your aftermarket part caused the proble, they are more likely to fix it than risk getting caught in a lie.

Re: Warranty??

The DEALER has nothing to do with Nissan's warranty.......they are just a service facility that stocks inventory and has direct billing arrangements with the factory.

The service department was created to install the parts they sell........who pays is almost immaterial other than they may get fewer paid hours from the factory than they do for customer paid work........volume discount on warranty work.

When they refuse 9 out of 10 times they do so because Infiniti has told them [in the past] they won't pay. Up to you to persuade Infiniti regional personnel to ok the repair.

If you bought the car there, they made some profit on you so they feel a little more obligation to help you [push Infiniti] at first.

Just understand no Service Manager is going to do [authorize]much work that they can't get paid for by Infiniti.
