So I had to remove the under-engine protection cover off my '04 G Sedan today (the Firestone shop must have used a torque wrench to put the oil filter back on last time and I couldn't remove it using conventional means so I had to remove the cover just to get a wrench on it). In any case, when I took the cover off, I found a block of gray foam about 2" x 4" x 8" sitting on top of the cover. It had to have come from somewhere but I have no idea where. It looks like it is supposed to fit up inside of some cavity.

Ideas?

 

I know what you are talking about but can't remember where it goes. I want to say it belongs on the front bumper area. I've frequently seen it, but one of those things I just didn't pay much attention to so not sure

If it's the piece I think it is, it goes right in the center of the front bumper just below the grill.

Post a pic and I'll tell you exactly where it goes for sure. (I have the front end off my car right now)
