2005 G35 Solenoid Valve Issue PLEASE HELP!!!
Just to help anyone else interested.....
Its the first one: http://www.makcotransmissionparts.co...Asolenoid.html
Model#63421
BUT....this was not my issue. I needed to replace the TCM in mine. Mine is located in the car and I believe the 04-up models it is inside the transmission. So do the research and figure out which to buy based on model.

Either way - this issue is from the TCM or the VB.

Yeah I have came across that one too. I just wish I had the $4000 Consult II computer to actually use this! I'm guessing its a $110 dealer BS charge I will have to swallow. Just checking to be sure though.
Yeah, i agree. I wish i could buy one of those for cheap...would make diagnostic work SOOO much easier.
I guess this new "right-to-repair" bill going through the senate may address this issue. (that is...having th correct diagnostic equipment that most independant mechanics cannot get). Then you can have a independant shop do this...vs a stealership

New transmission
I have a g35x and was having the same issue. Took it three places and two said I would need a new transmission, third on said he could fix it but was unsure how long fix would last. He said that he would have to repair some wired that had burnt out. would have charged me $800 to fix and if it broken down then I would have to pay him another $800 to fix. Decided to just buy used transmission off line and have him put it in. total cost of used tranmission installed $1680. Hope this helps.
Does anyone know if the valve body is the correct long term repair on this problem? I have a 2008 G35 w/ 84000 miles and the dealer states that the valve body is not a long term solution and eventually will lead to a transmission replacement...
solenoid valve issue
You'll only have 6 days depending on how many codes come up. An you will end up buying a new or used transmission It's cheaper to buy a used then a valve body for 1800 plus $120 an hour. I got mine with 80,000km witch is good.
My car has had the worst/oddest problem with this I wish someone could let me know what helped long term I was gonna replace the trans cause I had no drive or reverse whilee but I turned my car on today and It started reved and even moved!? Like wtf I don't understand how it could do this. Could it be because the battery was disconnected for a long time as it reads I have no codes right now (vdc and slip are usually on cause I need to replace my rack bushings.) I'm just looking for some insight

i have the same problem, and i took it to four different shops, they all said the same thing, i could either swap the valve body, which would be dealer part only at $1,100 plus labor = total $1,300 or swap the transmission i found one with 60k for $500 found someone that would swap it for me for $400 so total should be under the thousand with fluids, he didn't mention anything about having to flash any computer. hmm.. its a 2006 G35x with 110k
