So I took my trunk apart and found a plug that goes to no where
I was having the intermediate trunk problem. It will not open from the button, key fob or switch at random times. The only way for me to make the trunk open is to put the key in the ignition on the on position then try, and it will open.
So I took apart the trunk to look for some broken wires and I found this plug, it goes to no where,
I'll take a stab - after poking around the pdf manual ('06)...
I'm gonna guess that is connector B110 which would connect to another small harness leading to the "High-mounted stop lamp (in the rear air spoiler)" if your car had one. Sound right?
I have an 2008 Infiniti G35x and on the right side taillight I found this that’s not connected to anything. Info I don’t have a back up camera in my car, But my friend has a same car as mine but he does have a oem camera from the manufacture. And I took a look at his car he had a wire connected to that female plug. So what is it? Do you think is the camera?
I'm curious as to why your '08 doesn't have a backup camera?
My guess, based on a slow poke through the FSMs for your car, is that it is connector B66 which is listed as "wire to wire" but shows on the schematic as one of the connectors in the run from the Camera Control Unit to the camera itself. So I'd say your guess is probably correct.
Thank you for your help, The date of my car is 05/08. That’s why it doesn’t have a Camera I wish it did. So can I buy an OEM Camera and connect it to this wire, will it work with no problem?
so the manufacture installed every wires and hardness for the camera but didn’t add the camera?
...The date of my car is 05/08. That’s why it doesn’t have a Camera ...
Not sure I understand - you mean it's a 2008 G built in May of that year? I see '08s with backup cameras but maybe it was only an option in '08, I can't recall. However, if your car did not originally come with a camera then it is unlikely that the wiring harness would already be there for one. Possible, but unlikely. Less likely is that there would be the Camera Controller black box which is a rather expensive piece. And ... it would not be able to interface with your stock AV system anyway if it was not the "camera ready" model.
Adding a backup camera might be possible but would be a major undertaking and probably mean swapping out the entire AV rig. Possible, but expensive. Makes the rearview mirror seem pretty good, right?
