New 5AT shift **** option

I've been searching for years for a decent shift **** to replace the ho-hum blob **** Infiniti put in the 03/04 cars. I knew the Momo **** was an option, but it is expensive and looks a bit too much like a women's play toy. Today I found what I think is the ideal ****. It's billet aluminum and when installed, sits lower and looks much sportier than the OEM part or even the Momo part. It's the right size and has good mass. The aluminum perfectly matches the aluminum base plate too. The best part is it's $20. I got the **** from my local Autozone, but I had first seen it on Amazon, but never pulled the trigger because I was uncertain how it would look.

Here's the **** on Amazon and installed in my car:

Amazon Amazon

The **** is fairly bored out so you'll need to make a shim so that the **** slides on tightly to the shift lever. I used some rubber tubing and electrical tape to make the shim.

The Momo **** is ribbed for her pleasure and sits much higher up on the lever

No offense, but I'm not feeling it either. Another member here is working on a clean a/t shift **** design. Hopefully he'll have the prototype done soon.

I would burn the crap out of my hand in the brutal Texas summer heat if I I got that.

But, good looking out Dave.

To each his own. Pictures (thanks to the flash over exposing the ****) don't do this thing justice. It looks completely OEM and it's nice to have the **** a smaller size and lower. Unfortunately I won't use it much as once I shift into manual, I use the paddle shifters.

I am curious to see how the automatic **** turns out in the thread you linked. A friend use to have the Razo automatic **** where you pushed done on the **** for shifter interlock, but I was turned off by the fact that the **** spun around freely even though it was fully attached to the lever. It didn't feel right to pull the lever back and have the **** move around in your hand. I want the shifter to feel rock solid.

I use to have an aluminum ball shifter on my old manual Maxima. It's not bad assuming you keep it out of direct sunlight.

Not to my taste, but you're the only one who has to like it. Kudos, as always, for difference and innovation.

I like it.

I really need to replace my 06 **** as I guess the oils in my hand are really destroying the finish. Now my passengers notice it. The only thing in my interior not pristine.

Just can't decide what **** to get. All the good ones are $$$

It's not often you hear one guy say that to another guy.
