As a sysop on few other forums and owner of a couple I can say that the search function usually leaves a lot to be desired. It most often leads to threads that have diverged ("drifted", on on-line jargon) to the point where finding the original answer is a real trial -- and when found it might be four years old and no longer applied in light of recent discoveries. I could be "either unwilling to search or inept at searching" or I could be a computer professional with 46 years experience in the field and a professor with 34 years experience teaching computing topics, but the way threads drift asking the question anew is usually best.

On the forums that I own or manage I would much prefer that the topic get a clean start, with parameters that apply directly to the present situation, than turn a possible member off by telling him to go search. What is the forum for, if not for trying to help?

Can I search to see how many threads contain rants about using search instead of starting new threads?

^I think it's possible, but you'll probably have to have 34 years experience teaching computing topics.

That, or it could be like googeling Google in which case you will break the internet and we'll all die in a /0 black hole.

And Dan, I don't want to come off like a Jerk.... but which subject of the OP really deserves it's own thread?
The one asking a question for which we have an entire section devoted to ( https://g35driver.com/forums/care-detailing-22/ )

or...

^"Postwhore" I'll 'fess up to. But I don't post anything anywhere to impress anyone.
If you get corny jokes from me, it more than likely means you're OK in my book

But I'm also interested in that question. Why buy factory wheels? I mean, I realize some people are really really into keeping it stock, but you could at least change to other Infiniti factory wheels that are nicer looking
