...but boy was it fun. I smoked a 300 series Benz on the I5 express way last Saturday.

He was coming up behind a van and I was coming up behind him. I moved over into the left lane before he got a chance to...which must have pissed him off. He immediately jumps in behind my car...close enough to be a back seat passenger. As we both passed the van he jumps back into the right lane and floors it. Just as he is pulling along side me, I drop my auto into manual 4th and floor it. Even only going to 4th the car shoots out like a rocket and I look over and watched the guys eyes nearly pop out of his head. The G literally left the Benz in the dust. I hit 5th gear and looked down and I'm doing over 130 mph...WOW!

The scariest thing about it wasn't the dangerously high speed, the fear of getting caught or heaven forbid something more serious. But the fact that the it was obvious that the G still had a lot left. Even at that speed the ride was still so smooth.

I absolutely love this car...although I won't be doing that again....

at least not anytime soon!

Nike kill! That's one of the things I like about the G35 best - it's so new that most people don't know what kind of power it has. I've had the same eye-popping looks on the highway as the rice-mobiles slowly disappear in the rearview. I also share your fear of getting caught or worse but...whatcha gonna do - the g35 is BEGGING to go fast all the time!

Just smoked a 5.0 Mustang going on 71 South from
Columbus, Ohio. He pulled up next to me, I looked, he looked, and it was on. How many people can race a car with their father in-law in the car???? The bastard slowed down because he had a radar detector. I got pulled over by the State Trooper. He clocked me at 93 mph. $113 ticket. I'm going to court to avoid paying it.

jabari21, no offense dude, but if I was you don't even waste your time going to court, cuz your going to have to pay the ticket and court costs.

 

First of all, the Benz is just a 300 series. I'm guessing it's a 3.2L V6, but the car is a lot heavier than the G as well. I'm a Benz fan so when someone takes a 260hp/260torque/lighter car and compares it to a 221hp/232torque/300 lbs heavier E-Class, it's just not fair. Try finding a E430 next time and that should be more even. If it was a C-Class, the C320 still weighs more than the G35 and with only 215hp/221torque.

I'm not flamming or anything, I give respect to both sides since my family's car history has the G35 and had an E-Class before. I just think that highway racing is not REAL racing, since one person always gets the jump on the other person first.

Im still stuck... I have around 15 more days before my court date.. The ticket was only $101.00 but I dont want it to go on my record. Even if I can go to traffic school and have it taken off my record... id rather have a little more comfort in case i get another ticket... ive contacted a few traffic lawyers and none of them have returned any of my calls.... I couldent even get any rate information either for any of the laywers..

Yeah.. im still debating weather or not I should fight it or not Im going to try to call the CHP tomorrow and ask them if a error in the description field of the ticket is valid enough to void the ticket out...
