DIY: halogen to HID conversion (ebay lights)
#31
Sorry, you're wrong! the halogen & xenon reflectors ARE different! You should have just swapped out the front lenses from you're ebay lights onto your current factory lights. I guess you wanted the blacked out look though...in that case, you should have just swapped out the blacked out bezels from your ebay lights and put them on your factory ones along with the new lenses. Screensavers is right though, you're gonna be glaring everyone with that kit in a halogen setup. ![Cool](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)

They match right up with the OEM base. The problem is they don't seat all the way down. IIRC it was on the inside side of the headlight that doesnt come down all the way. I've never tried it but you could problem sand/dremel down that one side so it would come down farther to create a better seal. I just use some silicone each time to seal them up.
I'm still running the ebay lenses. Also, they are peeling/flaking a bit. eBay quality I guess
(NO, it's not because I have HIDs since Halogens burn hotter
)

My lenses are nice and clear but I don't think I would do it again. I'll prob just have my OEM lenses redone or buy a new expensive, overpriced OEM set ![Big Grin](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
How much are they now? $130? If you've already tried Plastx and a refinishing kit, I would say it's prob worth it but not in the long run.
Oh and I don't know if all those ebay headlights are equal in quality so you may have different experiences than I did.
